Chiara Bassetti

Chiara Bassetti is Senior Assistant Professor at the Department of Sociology and Social Research of the University of Trento, and a researcher at the Institute of Cognitive Sciences and Technologies of the Italian National Research Council (CNR). An ethnographer and ethnomethodologist, often working in interdisciplinary teams, her main research focus rests on social interaction, cultural phenomena and collaborative practices. She explored everyday collaboration in a number of contexts including grassroots initiatives for socio-economic innovation, performing arts and artistic creation, the workplace and complex socio-technical systems. She served in the Core Group of the COST Action “From sharing to Caring: Examining Socio-Technical Aspects of the Collaborative Economy” (2017-2021). Recent publications include “Processes of Processes of Proliferation: Impact Beyond Scaling in Sharing and Collaborative Economies” (Proceedings of the ACM on Human-Computer Interaction, 6, 41, 1-22); the book Corpo, apprendimento e identità. Sé e intersoggettività nella danza (ombre corte, 2021); and the edited collection Becoming a platform in Europe. On the governance of the collaborative economy (now publishers, 2021).
