Alejandro Ciordia Morandeira

Alejandro Ciordia is a PhD candidate in Sociology and Social Research at the University of Trento. He obtained a BA in Law and Political Science and a MA in Contemporary Arab and Islamic Studies, both at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM), and has been a visiting researcher at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU). His research interests are on social movements and collective action, civil society organizations, social capital, nationalist movements, repertoires of contention, and political violence. Methodologically he favours multi-method approaches, combining tools such as social network analysis and several forms of text analyses. His doctoral dissertation focuses on the recent evolution of interorganizational networks within the Basque environmental field before and after the end of violent conflict.
