Dorte Sophie Fische

Dorte Fischer is a PhD candidate at the Department of Sociology and Social Research of the University of Trento, Italy. Currently, she is a visiting research fellow at the Hamburg Institute of Social Research (HIS), Germany. Her research interests include the political consequences of social movements, protest policing, and political violence. In her PhD project, she analyzes the role of violent protest events in political decision-making processes that aim at police reform. Before starting her PhD, she worked as a policy advisor in the Parliament of Hamburg. She holds a double Master´s degree in European Studies and Political Science from the Universities of Maastricht, the Netherlands and Cologne, Germany.
